THE BLEEDING SKY

The night, the sky bleeds blood
Colouring the world in a ruddy hue
The stars shuddering with mortal fear
The moon fossilized, taking a cue.

I will carve my pounding heart out
My passions on display for you to inspect
The chambers brimming with affection
A bit of adulation, loads of respect

The tears I shed will all be yours
My sonnets, reaching only your ears
Recounting a story long forgotten
By my dearest, over the years

Till the night, the sky bleeds blood
Colouring the world in a ruddy hue
Let my eyes convey the message
Affirming my timeless love for you…
